Philosophy

Technology does not replace teachers or tried-and-true teaching methods. It can however, greatly supplement the classroom experience for students and teachers. I believe that technology is utilized best when students use it to create something that highlights what they have learned. Computers, the web, and other technologies used in conjunction with books, hands on activities, and personal interaction make teaching/learning productive and engaging. Teaching with technology not only engages students, but prepares them for the jobs of (today and) tomorrow.

In this blog, I do my best to point out creative ways that myself or others have used technology to engage students. Since the web is evolving at such a rapid rate, a static page no longer cuts the mustard. I’ll do my best to update as much as I can. Please leave comments or posts to keep the conversation going.
